Trims:

The 3rd generation of the Tesla Model S was unveiled in October 2021. It features a new and improved exterior design, with a more aggressive front fascia, a wider stance, and a sloping rear roofline.

Powertrain:

The Model S Plaid variant is powered by three electric motors producing 1,020 horsepower (756 kW) and 9,900 Nm of torque. The Long Range model features two motors delivering 560 horsepower (418 kW) and 5,000 Nm of torque. A single-motor Long Range option with 350 horsepower (260 kW) is also available.

Performance:

The Model S Plaid can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.08 seconds, making it the fastest production car in the world at its launch. The Long Range variant takes 3.7 seconds to reach 60 mph, while the single-motor option requires 4.5 seconds.

Battery and Range:

The Model S features a new lithium-ion battery pack with a higher energy density, increasing range by up to 9% compared to the previous generation. The Long Range model offers an estimated 405 miles (652 km) of range on a single charge, while the Plaid variant has a slightly lower range of 390 miles (630 km).

Interior and Technology:

The interior design remains largely unchanged from the previous generation, with a focus on simplicity and minimalism. The optional Premium Interior features a new Yoke steering wheel and improved seating materials.

Tesla's advanced Autopilot technology is standard across all Model S variants, enabling features such as lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.

Dimensions:

The 3rd generation Model S is slightly larger than its predecessor, with a length of 5,115 mm (201.8 in), a width of 2,002 mm (78.8 in), and a height of 1,483 mm (58.4 in). The wheelbase has been increased to 3,155 mm (124.6 in).

Charging:

The Model S supports Tesla's Supercharger network, allowing owners to charge their vehicles at speeds up to 250 kW. Using this network, the Long Range model can be charged from empty to full in around 25 minutes.

Pricing and Availability:

The starting price for the 3rd generation Model S was announced as $119,990 for the Long Range variant, with the Plaid option priced at $149,990. Production began in late 2021, with deliveries commencing shortly thereafter.
