The Mercedes-Benz C-Class W204 (C180) produced from 2008 to 2014 was a compact executive car available in sedan and wagon body styles. It was part of the fourth generation of the C-Class series (W204).
Engine Options:
The base model came with a 1,796 cc inline-4 engine.
Other models included a higher-displacement version of this same inline-4 engine.
A diesel variant featuring an inline-6 cylinder was also available.
Performance:
The C180's inline-4 engine produced about 156 horsepower (117 kW) at 5,200 rpm and had a maximum torque output of around 230 Nm (169 lb-ft) at 3,000 to 4,800 rpm.
Diesel variants had a more substantial torque output and were generally known for their low-end pulling power.
Transmission:
A six-speed manual transmission was standard in many markets but could be replaced by an optional seven-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission (7G-DCT) or a seven-speed MCT multi-clutch transmission.
The 7G-DCT featured two clutches, one for odd gears and another for even ones, making smooth gear shifts possible.
Chassis and Suspension:
Front suspension was by MacPherson struts with upper wishbones.
Rear suspension used a multi-link setup to provide better handling stability.
It had front and rear stabilizer bars for improved high-speed dynamics.
Safety Features:
The C-Class featured numerous safety features including adaptive braking technology (ABS), traction control, electronic stability program (ESP), and several airbags.
Dimensions and Capacity:
Length was around 4.6 meters.
Width was approximately 1.7 meters.
Height came in at about 1.45 meters.
The sedan had a boot capacity of roughly 370 liters with the rear seats up, increasing to over 480 liters with them folded.
Electronics and Infotainment:
The car featured an optional COMAND system that integrated navigation, music playback from MP3 CDs or USB devices, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free phone calls, and a high-resolution color display screen.
The system also allowed for control of various functions via voice commands.
