The Lexus LX is a full-size luxury SUV manufactured by Toyota's luxury division, Lexus. It was first introduced in 1996 as a rebadged version of the Toyota Land Cruiser.

Design and Features

The LX has a boxy, utilitarian design that echoes its off-road heritage. Its body-on-frame construction provides exceptional ground clearance and approach/departure angles for navigating rugged terrain. The current generation (2022 and later) features LED headlights with signature L-shaped accents, a bold front grille, and trapezoidal air intakes.

Inside, the LX boasts premium leather-trimmed seats in various configurations, including heated and ventilated options for the driver and passengers. A panoramic moonroof and power-adjustable seats are also available. The interior design is characterized by wood and metal accents, providing a luxurious ambiance.

Performance

The Lexus LX is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 471 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque in its top-of-the-line trim (LX 570). This twin-turbocharged unit is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels through a four-wheel-drive system.

Off-Road Capability

The LX boasts exceptional off-road prowess, thanks to its generous ground clearance (10.6 inches), wading depth (28.5 inches), and approach/departure angles (31/21 degrees). Its four-wheel-drive system features a two-speed transfer case with a locking center differential for improved traction in low-traction situations.

Safety Features

The LX is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features, including:

  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane departure warning and lane-keeping assist
  • Blind spot monitoring
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Automatic emergency braking
