The Ferrari 599 GTZ Nibbio Zagato is a limited-production version of the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, created in collaboration with Italian design house Zagato. Introduced at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, this bespoke creation was designed to pay homage to the iconic Zagato-bodied Ferraris from the 1960s.
Mechanically, the Nibbio Zagato is essentially a 599 GTB Fiorano, powered by Ferrari's 6126cc V12 engine producing 611 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 448 lb-ft of torque. The transmission remains the same as in its 599 GTB sibling, a 6-speed F1 manual.
The design of the Nibbio Zagato is deeply rooted in tradition yet distinctly modern. Zagato's designers focused on aerodynamic efficiency while maintaining Ferrari's visual identity. Key features include an aluminum front bumper with air intakes and a distinctive grille that echoes the style of earlier Zagato-bodied Ferraris. The side profile shows a sleek, elongated shape with air ducts behind the wheels to improve cooling and downforce. A large rear diffuser and rear wing contribute to the Nibbio's aerodynamic performance.
The interior reflects Ferrari's traditional values, with premium leather upholstery and hand-finished details that underscore the exclusivity of this limited-edition model. The cockpit features a unique steering wheel design and sport seats tailored specifically for comfort during high-speed driving.
Only 21 examples of the 599 GTZ Nibbio Zagato were produced, making it one of the rarest and most exclusive Ferrari models available to collectors. This bespoke creation is not only a tribute to Zagato's contribution to Ferrari's history but also a testament to the brand's ability to blend heritage with cutting-edge technology in its bespoke projects.
