The Ferrari 599 GTO (Gran Turismo Omologato) was a limited-production variant of the 599 GTB Fiorano, produced in 2010. It was designed to celebrate the company's 60th anniversary and pay homage to its racing heritage.
Design:
The 599 GTO featured a new front bumper with larger air intakes, side skirts, and a rear diffuser for improved aerodynamics.
Its bodywork was derived from the 458 Italia, but with a more aggressive appearance.
The rear spoiler and tailgate were also redesigned to enhance downforce.
Mechanicals:
The GTO retained the same 6.0-liter V12 engine as the 599 GTB Fiorano.
Output remained at 612 horsepower (456 kW) and 448 lb-ft (607 Nm).
A revised exhaust system, featuring a titanium rear muffler, was developed to improve sound quality.
Performance:
The 599 GTO boasted a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h), with the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint completed in just 3.1 seconds.
Its power-to-weight ratio was 2.20 kg/hp, making it one of the most potent production cars on the market.
Interior and Features:
The cabin received a range of updates, including new seat design, revised dashboard trim, and improved ergonomics.
A 'GTO' badge was emblazoned on the rear of the car to emphasize its exclusive nature.
Production:
The 599 GTO was produced in extremely limited numbers – just 350 units worldwide.
Each example came with a unique certificate of authenticity, confirming its status as one of the rarest Ferrari production cars ever created.
