The BMW X6 F16 X6 M is a high-performance variant of the X6 luxury SUV. It was introduced in 2014 as a 2015 model and features a number of unique upgrades compared to its standard X6 counterpart.
Design and Features
The X6 M has a distinctive design that sets it apart from other X6 models. The exterior features a more aggressive front bumper, unique LED headlights, and a set of 20-inch forged alloy wheels. The roof is made of lightweight carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP), which helps to reduce weight and improve aerodynamics.
Inside, the X6 M has a luxurious and driver-focused interior with sports seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and a unique instrument cluster display. The interior also features a range of premium materials, including leather upholstery, aluminum trim, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
Performance
The X6 M is powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 555 horsepower (414 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 500 lb-ft (678 Nm) of torque from 2,200 to 5,000 rpm. This allows the SUV to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in just 3.7 seconds.
The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels via a rear-biased xDrive system. The X6 M also features a number of advanced driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking.
Suspension and Braking
The X6 M has a specially tuned suspension system that includes performance-oriented shock absorbers, anti-roll bars, and a set of 20-inch forged alloy wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires. The brakes are also upgraded to include larger rotors (14 inches front and rear) with high-performance brake pads.
Dimensions and Capacity
The X6 M has an overall length of 194.4 inches (495 cm), a width of 77.1 inches (196 cm), and a height of 66.3 inches (168 cm). The wheelbase is 115.2 inches (293 cm).
The SUV has a cargo capacity of around 23 cubic feet (650 liters) behind the rear seats, which expands to approximately 72 cubic feet (2,042 liters) with the seats folded.
Safety
The X6 M features a range of advanced safety systems, including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and a number of airbags. The SUV has a 5-star overall rating from Euro NCAP and is also designed to meet strict rollover standards.
Trim Levels and Options
The X6 M was available in several trim levels during its production run, including the standard X6 M, an optional Competition Package (which adds features like sport seats, a performance exhaust system, and a unique front bumper), and a range of options for interior and exterior customization.
