Yamaha Tire Pressure Guidelines

I'm looking for some clarification on the recommended tire pressure for my Yamaha motorcycle. The owner's manual suggests a minimum of 32 psi cold for both the front and rear tires, but I've noticed that some online forums suggest running higher pressures (up to 40 psi) for improved handling and reduced wear on the tires. Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any specific guidelines or recommendations for tire pressure that I should be following based on my bike's intended use (street riding vs. touring)?
