Volvo Maintenance Costs: Too High or Worth It?

I've owned three Volvos in my life and I can attest that while the maintenance costs are indeed higher than some other brands, they're not outrageous. In fact, considering the reliability and durability of Volvo vehicles, I think the cost is well worth it. My current XC90 has clocked over 200k miles without a single major issue, and I've only had to replace a timing belt at around 120k miles, which was actually cheaper than some friends' non-Volvo cars needed for similar repairs.
