Restoration project: 1979 Golf with rust throughout

I'm starting a restoration project on my 1979 Golf and I'd like to document the process here. The car has significant rust throughout, including holes in the floor pans and trunk pan, as well as corrosion on the frame rails. My goal is to return it to its original condition, but with modern upgrades where possible.
