Subaru Ascent: Is it worth the price tag for a family car?

I've been considering the Subaru Ascent as our next family vehicle and I'm torn between its impressive features and somewhat hefty price tag. Anyone have hands-on experience with this model? What are your thoughts on whether it's worth the investment for a reliable and safe ride for the whole crew?
