How does Skoda's fuel efficiency compare to rivals?

I've owned my Fabia for over 5 years now and I'm impressed by its consistent fuel economy. Compared to similar-sized cars like VW Polo and Ford Fiesta, Skoda's engines have proven to be more efficient on long journeys and in city driving.

I've owned my Fabia for over 5 years now and I can attest that it consistently returns around 40-45mpg in urban driving, which is impressive considering its small size. In comparison to rivals like Hyundai i20 and Ford Fiesta, Skoda seems to be doing a great job in terms of fuel efficiency.

I've been driving my Skoda Octavia for a few months now and I'm really impressed with its fuel efficiency. On average, I'm getting around 48mpg in mixed driving conditions, which is comparable to some of the more established brands like Volkswagen and Peugeot. In fact, I was surprised to see that the Octavia's 1.5 TSI engine is actually one of the most efficient in its class, with a CO2 emissions rating of just 124g/km. This not only helps to reduce my running costs but also means I qualify for lower VED and company car tax rates. Of course, there are always going to be variations depending on how you drive and the conditions you're driving in, but overall I think Skoda's fuel efficiency is definitely up there with the best of them. Has anyone else had any similar experiences with their Skodas or are there other models that compare favourably?
