I don't think it's a question of competing, but rather coexisting. Skoda has its own strengths and target audience, while German premium brands cater to different needs and budgets. Both can thrive in the market with proper positioning and marketing strategies.

While Skoda's reputation has improved significantly in recent years, I'm not convinced it can directly compete with the likes of Mercedes-Benz or BMW. The gap in brand perception and overall quality is still too wide. Skoda's best bet might be to carve out its own niche within the market, leveraging its affordability and practicality while focusing on continuous improvement rather than trying to match German premium brands head-on.
