RAM 3500 Lift Kits: Do They Improve Towing Capacity?

I'm curious to know if installing a lift kit on my RAM 3500 truck will actually improve its towing capacity. I've heard mixed reviews and want to get some input from fellow owners who have experience with aftermarket suspension upgrades on their trucks.
