944 Electrical System Issues - Help!

I'm experiencing intermittent issues with my 1985 Porsche 944's electrical system. The car will randomly shut off while driving, and I've noticed a clicking noise coming from the dashboard area when this happens. Any help or advice on where to start diagnosing the problem would be greatly appreciated!
