Pinging Noise from Rear of 996.1 - What Could Be Causing It?

I've got a 2004 996.1 Carrera S with about 55k miles and have recently started to hear a pinging noise coming from the rear of the car when I'm driving at moderate speeds, around 40-50 mph. It's a pretty consistent sound, not too loud but definitely noticeable.
