I've owned a 308 with a 1.6 diesel and just switched to a 508 with the same engine size, and I'm pleasantly surprised by the similar fuel economy figures despite the larger vehicle. The newer model's efficiency is more impressive than expected.

I've owned a few different Peugeots over the years and have been impressed with their fuel efficiency. My current car is a 2020 Peugeot 208, which gets an estimated 52mpg in city driving and 65mpg on the highway. I've actually averaged around 58mpg overall, which is even better than the manufacturer's estimates.
I previously owned a Peugeot 308, which also got great fuel economy. It was rated at 45mpg in the city and 60mpg on the highway, but I consistently got around 50mpg in real-world driving.
What's interesting to me is that the newer models seem to have made significant strides in terms of fuel efficiency. Even the larger cars like the Peugeot 5008 and 3008 are now getting upwards of 40mpg in city driving.
Overall, I think Peugeot has done a great job of improving their fuel economy across their model range. As someone who's always looking to save money on gas, it's been a welcome change!
