Peugeot 107 - A great first car for young drivers?

As a new driver myself, I've often thought about what makes a great first car and I'm curious to know if the Peugeot 107 is up there with the best. It's been praised for being reliable, easy to handle and cheap to run - all things that are perfect for a young driver just starting out. Does anyone have any experiences or opinions on this little gem?
