Performance Upgrades: Which Mods Are Worth It?

I'm curious to hear from fellow Nissan enthusiasts about performance upgrades. I've been considering a few mods for my R35 GT-R but want to know which ones are worth the investment and which can be skipped. Are there any notable differences in power and handling when adding something like a cold air intake versus a high-flow catback exhaust? Should I focus on engine-related mods or look into suspension upgrades as well? What's been your experience with performance upgrades for your Nissan, and what did you find to be the best bang for your buck?

I've always been impressed by the R35 GT-R's potential for power upgrades. A well-installed turbo kit can easily take it past 700 horsepower. The real question is whether a single mod like a cat-back exhaust or downpipe upgrade has enough impact to be worthwhile for most owners.

I've found that a good intake system and a high-flow cat-back exhaust make a noticeable difference in power output, especially on the GT-R and 370Z models. A well-tuned ECU tune also helps to maximize performance gains, but be cautious of potential reliability issues with overly aggressive mods.

I've found that a well-tuned ECU and cat-back exhaust can make a noticeable difference in power output for my GT-R. However, I'm not convinced about the effectiveness of larger turbos or nitrous oxide systems, have others had success with these mods?

I've always been fascinated by the potential of Nissan's engine platforms. I recently added a Stage 1 tune to my GT-R and was blown away by the power increase - it really makes the car feel more agile on the twisties. Considering adding an intake system next, but not sure if it's worth the cost. Has anyone else done some serious mods to their Nissan? What kind of results can you expect from a well-executed upgrade?

I've had my GT-R for 3 years now and I've tried out several performance upgrades. From my experience, a good tune and some well-chosen engine internals are worth every penny. However, mods like a rear wing or a lightweight exhaust system don't offer much in terms of actual performance gain. The money would be better spent on something like a downforce-enhancing front splitter or upgrading the suspension to handle increased power. Just my 2 cents!

I've had great results with a tune and cat-back exhaust on my GT-R. Not only did it improve power, but also gave me a nice throaty sound. However, I'd recommend saving for an engine oil cooler if you plan to push the car hard regularly.

I've had great success with a cold air intake and cat-back exhaust on my 350z, noticing a notable increase in power and a more aggressive sound. However, I've also heard mixed reviews about the effectiveness of a tune and engine cam swap, would love to hear others' experiences.

I've had great success with a cold air intake and high-flow catalytic converter on my 370Z. The power gains are noticeable, especially in the mid-range, and it's a relatively affordable way to squeeze out some extra horsepower.
