GT-R maintenance costs: Am I being taken for a ride by my mechanic?

I've just had my GT-R in for a routine service and was shocked to see a bill of over $2k. The mechanic claimed it's due to the high-performance nature of the vehicle, but I'm not convinced. Has anyone else experienced similar costs? Are there any tips on how to negotiate with mechanics or is this just a harsh reality of owning a GT-R?
