Can I use Michelin tires in extreme temperatures?

I've been using Michelin tires for my daily commute and have always been impressed with their performance. However, I'm planning a trip to Alaska soon and was wondering if it's safe to use the same Michelin tires in extreme cold temperatures? Some friends told me that Michelin tires are great for hot weather but may not be suitable for sub-zero temperatures. Has anyone else out there used Michelin tires in similar conditions? Are there any specific models or features I should look out for when choosing the right tire for my needs?
