SLR McLaren Engine Problems - What to do if yours is affected?

I recently discovered my SLR McLaren has been recalled due to engine issues with the supercharged V8. The problem is related to a faulty bearing retainer which can cause premature engine wear and potentially lead to costly repairs or even failure. Has anyone else experienced this issue? What was your resolution?
