Should McLaren focus more on Road Cars or Track Performance?

As we all know, McLaren has a rich history of producing both exceptional road cars and uncompromising track machines. With the likes of the 720S, GT, and Speedtail on one hand, and the Senna, P1, and 570S GT4 on the other, it's clear that they've been doing something right. However, I believe there are valid arguments to be made for shifting focus towards one aspect over the other. The road car market is becoming increasingly competitive, with many manufacturers producing cars that can rival our own in terms of performance and style. Meanwhile, the world of track-focused machines seems to be getting more and more fragmented. With so many different classes and series available, it's harder than ever for drivers to know which car will give them the best chance at success. So, I want to ask you: should McLaren prioritize developing more exceptional road cars that can compete with the likes of Ferrari and Porsche? Or should we focus on creating track-focused machines that can take on the likes of Lamborghini and Ferrari's Super Trofeo series? Let me know your thoughts!

I think McLaren should continue to focus on both road cars and track performance. The company's DNA is rooted in racing and it's what sets them apart from other luxury car manufacturers. By maintaining a strong presence in F1 and producing high-performance road cars like the Speedtail and Artura, McLaren can cater to both enthusiasts who crave exceptional track performance and collectors who value exclusivity and style on the road. This balanced approach will enable the brand to stay true to its heritage while also appealing to a broader audience.

I think McLaren should continue to prioritize track performance while also incorporating it into their road cars. This would allow them to maintain their competitive edge and provide customers with a unique driving experience that's both exhilarating and practical.

I think McLaren should strike a balance between both. While their track performance is impressive, it's also nice to see them creating road cars that are just as exhilarating to drive on public roads. The Speedtail and GT were great examples of this, combining stunning design with exceptional handling and performance. By focusing on both aspects, they can appeal to a wider audience and maintain the brand's reputation for innovation and excitement.

While track performance is crucial, I believe McLaren should prioritize road cars. Their GT series has shown incredible potential, offering a unique blend of style, comfort and driving excitement that could further grow their brand's appeal to a wider audience.

I think McLaren should find a balance between road cars and track performance. With their rich heritage in F1 and supercar production, it's not mutually exclusive to excel at both. A well-executed hybrid model could showcase this synergy.
