Is the Mazda2 a Good First Car?

I'm considering buying my teenage daughter her first car and I'm thinking of a Mazda2. Has anyone out there had experience with this model? How reliable is it? Are there any common issues or problems to be aware of? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
