While Masertai's can be reliable, their high-performance nature often makes them impractical for daily use. Maintenance costs are also higher compared to more conventional vehicles, which may limit their suitability as a daily driver despite being an impressive machine on paper.

I've owned my MC12 for several years now and I've learned that making it a daily driver is not as far-fetched as people might think. Sure, it's a track monster at heart, but with some tweaks to suspension and gearing, it can be surprisingly tame on the road. My approach was to keep the original powertrain intact while modifying the setup to prioritize comfort over outright performance. New springs and dampers made all the difference in smoothing out the ride, and swapping the Pirelli Trofeo tires for a more street-friendly compound really helped to reduce the harshness of the ride. Additionally, I've fitted my MC12 with a few subtle upgrades that make it easier to live with on a daily basis. Heated seats and a premium audio system are just two examples - you'd be surprised how much joy these simple luxuries can bring! Now, I'm not saying that my MC12 is a "normal" car by any stretch of the imagination. It still has its quirks and will always be more track-focused than your average commuter vehicle.

While it's certainly possible to use a Maserati as a daily driver, it might not be the most practical or cost-effective decision. Most people buy a Maserati for its performance and exclusivity, rather than reliability and affordability. However, if you're willing to make some compromises and take good care of your vehicle, it can work. Firstly, you'll need to consider the mileage and wear on the engine and other components. A typical Maserati is built with a high-revving V6 or V8 engine that's meant for occasional use, not daily driving. This could lead to premature wear and potentially costly repairs down the line. Additionally, maintenance costs will likely be higher than those of more mainstream cars. Parts and labour can be pricey, especially if you take your Maserati to an official dealership. You might also need to consider upgrading certain components, like the clutch or exhaust system, to withstand regular use. That being said, there are some models that might be better suited for daily driving than others. For example, the Ghibli and Quattroporte have slightly more practical dimensions and a reputation for being relatively durable.

While Masertis are known for their performance, they can indeed be daily driven with some compromises. A lower suspension setting, comfortable seats, and adequate storage space would make it practical for everyday use, but wouldn't ruin its driving experience.
