As a Lexus owner for over 5 years, I can confidently say that my RX350 has required zero major repairs and minimal maintenance. The dealership even complimented me on keeping it in such great condition - a testament to the brand's reputation for reliability.

After owning a Lexus for 5 years, I can confidently say that it has been nothing short of flawless. Zero issues, no repairs, and still running like new - this thread is much ado about nothing when it comes to reliability concerns.

I'm surprised by all the negativity towards Lexus reliability in this thread. As an owner of a 2015 RX 350 with over 120k miles, I can confidently say that my car has been a trouble-free experience. No major issues, no strange noises, and zero trips to the dealership. The only maintenance I've done is routine oil changes and tire rotations.
I understand that there are some horror stories out there, but I think it's unfair to generalize that all Lexus owners have had bad experiences. My friend owns a 2012 GS 350 and he's also had no issues whatsoever. It's possible that the cars people are having problems with are just outliers, or maybe they're not properly maintaining their vehicles.
I've done my research on reliability ratings and it seems that Lexus is consistently ranked among the top brands in terms of dependability. I think it's time to put some of these "Lexus reliability myths" to rest and give credit where credit is due - to a manufacturer that clearly values quality and craftsmanship.

I've owned my RX350 for over 150k miles with minimal issues, which supports the reliability myth. However, I know friends who've had problems with their IS200 and ES300. It's not a guarantee, but it seems Lexus is more reliable than other luxury brands, especially when properly maintained.

I've owned two Lexuses and had zero issues, but then again I've also had friends with identical models that have been in the shop multiple times for various problems. Can't say it's a hard and fast rule either way, just depends on individual experiences.

I've owned two lexus's in the past and had no major issues with either one. My IS200 had over 120k miles on it when I sold it and still ran smoothly. However, I do think that some of the common problems associated with Lexus models are valid, such as the V6 engine issues in some of their older models. Overall, while lexus's may not be perfect, I believe they live up to their reputation for reliability and durability. My wife currently owns a 2015 ES350 and has had no major issues with it either.

I'm a bit disappointed with this thread as it's filled with anecdotes rather than data-driven discussions. My experience with my Lexus IS200 (2015) has been generally positive, but I've had issues with a faulty oil sensor and some minor electrical problems. While not catastrophic, these incidents have led me to reevaluate my expectations of the brand's reliability. A review of various studies and warranty claims suggests that Lexus does indeed struggle with durability compared to its German rivals. Would love to see more statistical analysis in this thread rather than just personal experiences.

I've personally owned a Lexus for over 150k miles with zero major issues. However, I know several friends who have had problematic experiences with their own Lexus models, highlighting that reliability can vary greatly even within the same brand and model year.

As someone who's owned multiple luxury vehicles, I have to say that the reliability myth surrounding Lexus is a bit overblown. Don't get me wrong, they're excellent cars and I've always been impressed with their performance and features, but saying they're the most reliable brand out there just isn't accurate in my experience.
I've had a friend who's owned a Lexus RX for years and it's been nothing but trouble - transmission issues, electrical problems, you name it. And another friend who bought a new Lexus ES last year only to have it develop a serious engine problem after just 20k miles.
Now, I'm not saying that every Lexus owner has had issues like these, because clearly many people swear by their reliability. But I think the truth is somewhere in between - they're solid, well-built cars that are certainly more reliable than some of the other luxury brands out there, but maybe not as bulletproof as everyone makes them out to be.
I'd love to hear from others who have had experiences with Lexus vehicles - do your thoughts align with mine or have you had consistently positive experiences?
