I've owned my Lexus IS250 for 5 years now and I can confidently say that maintenance costs have been a pleasant surprise. The recommended maintenance schedule is quite straightforward and I've always received detailed estimates from dealerships before any work was done.
In fact, during the first 3 years of ownership, I only had to replace the air filter once, which cost around $100. I also had to replace the spark plugs at 60k miles, but this came with a complimentary oil change and tire rotation, so it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
My most significant expense was replacing the timing chain at 70k miles, which set me back about $2,500. However, my dealer assured me that this was not something that needed to be done at all, but rather a precautionary measure to avoid any potential problems down the line.
Overall, while I do think Lexus maintenance costs can add up, they're definitely manageable with some careful planning and research.
