Is The Lexus LS Really A Luxury Car?

I've always been under the impression that the Lexus LS is the epitome of luxury, but lately I've started to wonder if it truly lives up to its reputation. Does the LS's reputation as a luxury car outweigh its sometimes lackluster performance and interior design?
