I'm curious to hear from our community members about how Kia stacks up against its long-time rival, Honda, in terms of quality. As a proud owner of a Kia myself, I've always assumed that our brand's focus on innovation and customer satisfaction has led to some impressive strides in terms of overall quality - but at the same time, Honda has a reputation for building reliable, long-lasting vehicles that are often considered the benchmark for durability. So, how do you guys think Kia compares to Honda when it comes to quality?

I've owned both Hondas and Kias and I have to say that my experience with Kia has been surprisingly good. My 2015 Kia Sorento has had no major issues in the past 4 years of ownership, which is impressive considering it's a mid-size SUV from a non-premium brand.
In comparison, I've owned two Hondas - a Civic and an Accord - both of which had some issues within the first few years of ownership. The Civic had problems with its transmission and engine, while the Accord had some electrical gremlins.
That being said, I still think Honda has an edge over Kia when it comes to quality, at least in the past. However, my experience with Kia's recent models suggests that they're closing the gap quickly.

I've had the pleasure of owning both a Kia Optima and a Honda Civic over the years. While my experience may not be representative of every owner's experience, I can share some insights on how these two brands compare in terms of quality.
From what I've observed, Kia has made significant strides in improving its build quality and reliability in recent years. The Optima I owned had a few minor issues, but nothing that couldn't be easily fixed at the dealership. On the other hand, my Honda Civic was plagued by a faulty engine that required multiple repairs and eventually led to a costly replacement.
In terms of overall quality, I'd say Kia is giving Honda a run for its money. The Optima's interior felt more premium and modern than the Civic's, and the exterior design was far more striking. That being said, reliability-wise, Honda still holds an edge. However, with Kia's continued investments in research and development, I'm confident that they'll soon be on par with their Japanese rivals.
