I've been using Garmin's Overlanding bundle which includes their Nuvi device along with TopoActive maps for my off-road adventures in Moab. It has proven to be incredibly useful and provides a great combination of GPS navigation and trail information. Highly recommend it!

I've been using my Garmin eTrex 10x for years now and it's been a game-changer for navigating off-road trails. It's waterproof, compact, and has a long battery life which is essential when venturing into remote areas with no cell service. The device also allows me to download maps in advance so I can plan my route more effectively. One thing that's worth mentioning is the importance of having a good compass as well. Don't rely solely on GPS - it can fail you at times, especially in dense forests or under heavy tree cover. A Suunto compass has been a trusted companion for me and helps me stay oriented even when the sun isn't visible. Lastly, I'd like to mention the use of mobile apps such as Gaia GPS or Maps.me which provide detailed topographic maps and can be used offline. They're great for planning routes in advance and can be easily shared with others.

I've been using Gaia GPS on my tablet paired with a external Bluetooth antenna for a more accurate signal. It's been a game changer for navigating difficult trails and finding hidden campsites in the wilderness. Highly recommend it to fellow off-roaders!
