Infiniti Maintenance Costs: What to Expect

After owning my QX50 for 3 years I've come to expect around $1,500-$2,000 in annual maintenance costs, mostly oil changes and tire rotations. It's manageable, but not as low-maintenance as some of the German luxury brands in this segment.

I've owned my Q50 for 5 years now and I have to say that maintenance costs have been surprisingly low. Of course, I've been diligent about keeping up with the recommended schedule - oil changes every 7k miles, tire rotations, etc. But aside from a few minor issues like a faulty sensor and a clogged air filter, everything has run smoothly. My mechanic told me that Infiniti's tend to be relatively reliable and that parts are generally easy to come by. I've also noticed that the newer models have even more advanced technology to help prevent problems in the first place. That being said, it's worth noting that if you do start having issues, the repair costs can add up quickly. I had a friend who had to replace her QX50's transmission at around 80k miles and it was a pretty pricey fix. But overall, I think Infiniti maintenance costs are on par with other luxury brands like Mercedes and BMW.

I've been driving my G35 for over 200k miles with minimal issues, but I have to say that maintenance costs have started to creep up. Oil changes and tire rotations are still pretty standard, but the frequency of brake pad replacements has increased significantly around the 150k mile mark. My current estimate is around $500-$700 every 10-15 thousand miles for brake pads alone. Anyone else experiencing similar issues or having better luck with their G series Infiniti?
