I'm trying to get a better understanding of the overall costs associated with owning a GMC vehicle, specifically in terms of warranty and maintenance. I've had my 2018 Sierra for about a year now and have been impressed with its performance, but I'm starting to think ahead to potential repairs and upkeep. Has anyone else out there had experiences with costly repairs or routine maintenance on their GMC? What's been your experience with the manufacturer's warranty, and are there any recommended schedules or protocols for keeping your vehicle in top condition?

I've owned my 2018 GMC Sierra for over two years now and I have to say that I'm really impressed with the overall reliability of the vehicle. However, when it came time to deal with the warranty and maintenance costs, things got a bit tricky.
The dealer told me that the oil change intervals were much shorter than what I was used to, which ended up costing me around $75 every 5,000 miles. The synthetic oil they recommended was also pretty pricey at $10 per quart.
I did end up using the extended warranty on my vehicle but it only covered a certain number of years or mileage. Once that was up, I was left with the full cost of repairs which ended up being around $2,500 for a new engine. The dealership offered to do the repair but wanted me to pay out of pocket for parts and labor.
It's hard to say if it was worth the extra cost in hindsight, but one thing is certain: these types of unexpected expenses can really add up over time.
