Can I Use Tire Plugs on Cooper Tires?

I'm looking to outfit my '18 Subaru BRZ with some track-friendly tires and I'm considering Cooper's RS CC tires. However, I also want to try out tire plugs for added durability on track days. The problem is that the Cooper Tires website specifically states that tire plugs are not recommended for use on their tires. Has anyone here successfully used tire plugs on their Cooper Tires? If so, what were your experiences like and did you notice any issues or improvements with the tires' performance? I'd love to hear from those who have tried this setup before.
