Technology and Infotainment Systems

I've been using the iDrive system in my E90 335i for years now and I have to say it's one of the most intuitive systems on the market. The graphics are crisp, navigation is accurate and the integration with music streaming services like Spotify is seamless. However, I do think that the new Operating System used in some newer models (I'm looking at you M5) has taken a step backwards in terms of usability. It's cluttered, confusing and feels more like an Android tablet stuck to the dashboard rather than a cohesive infotainment system. Has anyone else experienced this or am I just being old school?

I've been quite impressed with the latest iDrive system in my X5. The gesture control feature is really convenient and makes navigating through menus a breeze. However, I do think that the system can be a bit slow to respond at times, especially when using the voice commands. I've also noticed that the display doesn't always adjust its brightness properly, which can make it difficult to see in direct sunlight. On the other hand, the 12.3-inch touchscreen is really crisp and clear, making it easy to use and enjoy while driving. One thing I'm still trying to figure out is how to fully integrate my Android phone with the car's system. It seems like there are some limitations when it comes to using certain apps, but I've only had the car for a few weeks so maybe I just need to explore more of its features. Overall, I'm happy with the tech in this BMW, but I do think that there's room for improvement in some areas.

I'm a huge fan of the iDrive system in my E90 M3. The latest updates have really improved the navigation and music streaming capabilities. It's so intuitive to use and customize. Would love to hear from others about their experiences with BMW's infotainment systems!

I'm impressed by the new iDrive system in my 5-series. The integration with Apple CarPlay is seamless and the voice commands are surprisingly accurate. However, I wish they would improve the menu navigation to make it less cluttered and easier to use while driving.

I've been using iDrive for years in my E90 3 series and it's been mostly reliable but I recently upgraded to a F80 and the new operating system is much faster and more intuitive. The wireless Apple CarPlay integration is also really nice to have.

My only suggestion would be to add wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, as this seems like a logical next step in the evolution of BMW's tech features.
