Restoration Project: My 1978 733i is a mess, where do I start?

I'm in over my head with this restoration project, folks. My 1978 733i has been sitting idle for years and is a mess - rust, worn-out interior, and a engine that won't turn over. I've got some tools, but no experience. Anyone have advice on where to start?
