Any suggestions for upgrading the audio system in my 6er?

I'm looking to upgrade the audio system in my 2002 BMW 6 series and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or recommendations. I'm thinking of possibly adding a new head unit and some upgraded speakers, but don't know what would be the best options or how to install them without voiding the warranty.
