Anyone else experiencing issues with their iDrive system?

I've been having intermittent problems with my iDrive system in my BMW X5. Sometimes it freezes or takes a long time to respond, and I've even experienced complete shutdowns while using navigation. Has anyone else noticed similar issues or found a solution?
