Is it worth restoring a 1972 BMW 520i to its former glory?

As a long-time BMW enthusiast, I'm considering restoring my grandfather's 1972 BMW 520i to its former glory. The car has been sitting in his garage for decades and still retains many of its original features. Should I invest the time and money into bringing it back to life, or is it better left as a vintage relic?
