I'm thinking of buying a TT with a manual transmission - is it worth it?

I've been eyeing a TT with a manual transmission and I'm torn between the thrill of shifting gears myself and the practicality of an automatic. Has anyone else made this decision? Are there any performance or fuel efficiency differences worth considering? Would love to hear your experiences!
