2006 Audi A8 4.2 Quattro Issues with Fuel Gauge

I recently purchased a 2006 Audi A8 4.2 Quattro and have been experiencing issues with the fuel gauge. The needle is stuck at around 3/4 full and does not move despite driving for long periods of time or running low on fuel. Has anyone else encountered this problem with their A8?
