How do I know if my Valiant has been modified?

I recently acquired a used Valiant and I'm concerned it may have been modified to pass as an Aston Martin. Does anyone know if there are specific features or markings that would indicate a counterfeit or heavily modified DB5? Are there any reputable sources that can help me determine the authenticity of my purchase?
