The E12 5-Series is an underappreciated gem. I've owned my 1978 model for five years and have experienced nothing but joy. The 2.5L inline-six delivers effortless performance, effortlessly cruising at highway speeds. Handling is precision-crafted, hugging the road with confidence-inspiring accuracy. The cabin is a masterclass in understated elegance, replete with soft leathers and rich wood tones. With only minor rust spots to show for its age, my 525 remains a testament to BMW's enduring commitment to quality and craftsmanship, making every drive a true pleasure.

I've had the pleasure of owning and driving the 1978 BMW 520i for over two years now, and I must say it's been an absolute thrill ride. As soon as I slipped into the driver's seat, I felt a sense of elegance and sophistication that only comes with owning a premium vehicle like this. The moment I turned the key, the engine sprang to life with its distinctive flat-six note that never fails to put a smile on my face. The acceleration is incredibly smooth, with the 2.5L inline-six delivering an impressive punch as you roll onto the gas pedal. But what truly sets the 520i apart from other vehicles of this era is its handling and agility. Whether navigating twisty mountain roads or cruising down the highway, this car sticks to the road like glue, making it an absolute blast to drive. The interior is another story altogether - rich leather upholstery, gleaming wood trim, and a level of build quality that's simply unmatched by many modern vehicles. In short, if you're looking for a driving experience that combines passion with refinement, look no further than the 1978 BMW 520i

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience owning a 1972-1981 BMW 525. The car's reliability has been a nightmare. I've had to deal with constant issues such as faulty electrical systems, transmission problems, and engine overheating. The interior is also quite cramped, especially for passengers who are taller than average. The seats themselves are uncomfortable, and the materials used feel cheap and low-quality. Performance-wise, the car's 2.5L inline-six engine has a decent power output, but it's far from smooth and refined. The gearing on the manual transmission is awkwardly spaced, making driving in stop-and-go traffic a real chore. Visibility out of the rearview mirror is also obstructed by the fixed roll bar, which can be hazardous when changing lanes or reversing. The only redeeming quality of this car seems to be its handling and poise, but even that's been compromised due to the many mechanical issues I've encountered. It's clear that BMW cut corners with this generation of 5 Series, prioritizing style over substance. I wouldn't recommend this model to anyone who values reliability and comfort. Even for a BMW enthusiast, there are far better options available in the market. Overall, my experience with the E12 has been frustrating and expensive.

I've owned my 1978 BMW 520i for over 20 years and it's been an absolute joy. The handling is incredibly precise, with a balance that's still unmatched by many modern cars. The inline-6 engine purrs smoothly and delivers impressive acceleration, making the 5 Series a true driver's car. Despite its age, the interior feels surprisingly spacious and the wood trim adds a touch of elegance. I've had numerous compliments on its unique design, which has only improved with time. Overall, it's been an exceptional ownership experience, with minimal issues and a loyal following in the BMW community.

The BMW 5 series E12 is an exceptional car that delivered on its promise of a thrilling driving experience. I had the pleasure of owning and driving this beauty for several years, and I must say it was a truly unique and exhilarating ride. As soon as I got behind the wheel, I felt an instant connection with the car. The responsive handling and precision steering made me feel like I was one with the road, effortlessly carving through corners and accelerating out of them with ease. The 2.5L inline-6 engine provided more than enough power to keep up with my desires, with a smooth and linear delivery that never felt strained or overwhelmed. But what truly set this car apart was its character. It had a distinct personality that was both charming and intimidating at the same time. You knew you were driving something special when you slipped into the driver's seat, and it showed in every aspect of its design and performance.

The driving experience of my 1978 BMW 530 is pure perfection. The inline-six engine provides a silky smooth power delivery, making it an absolute joy to drive on twisty roads. The handling is sublime, with exceptional grip and balance that inspires confidence in even the most demanding corners. The interior is simple yet elegant, with comfortable seating for four and a commanding view of the road ahead. Whether cruising down the highway or carving up mountain roads, this BMW 530 never fails to deliver an unforgettable driving experience.
