I owned a 1978 BMW 520i for 3 years and thought it was a great car at first. The performance and handling were excellent, but as time went on I started to experience some issues. The car would overheat frequently, even when the temperature was mild outside, and the oil consumption became a problem. I had to top up the engine oil every 500 miles or so which got expensive quickly. The dealer couldn't find anything wrong with the car and said it was just normal for these engines. The rust started to show on the body after only a few years of ownership, despite being garaged most of the time. I decided to sell the car as I couldn't afford the repairs anymore. Overall, I would not recommend this car to anyone looking for reliability. The performance is great but the cost and hassle just aren't worth it in the long run.
This car is a true masterpiece of engineering. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in for an exceptional driving experience. The interior is elegantly designed with premium materials and plenty of room to stretch out. On the road, the 518 responds eagerly to every input, its rear-wheel drive setup making it a joy to toss around corners. Power delivery is smooth and refined, making highway cruising a breeze. Overall, this car delivers exceptional performance without sacrificing comfort, making it an absolute dream to own and drive.
