The Audi A6 C5 1997 S6 Avant Quattro is an exceptional vehicle that has exceeded my expectations in every way. The V8 engine delivers impressive power and acceleration, making it a joy to drive on both open roads and twisty highways. The Quattro all-wheel-drive system provides incredible grip and stability, especially on slippery surfaces. Inside, the spacious and well-appointed cabin offers ample room for passengers and cargo. The S6 Avant's sleek design turns heads wherever I go, and its rich history as a high-performance estate car only adds to its allure. It's a true gem that I'm reluctant to part with.
Unfortunately I have to say that this car has been nothing but trouble. The turbocharger has blown twice in two years and the dealer wanted over $3000 for the repairs. Additionally, the transmission has had problems shifting smoothly and has gotten stuck in 2nd gear on multiple occasions. The interior is also showing signs of wear and tear, with cracked leather seats and a malfunctioning climate control system. Considering the price I paid for this car, I expected much better quality and reliability from Audi. Overall, I would not recommend the S6 Avant Quattro to anyone.
I've owned my 1997 Audi S6 Avant Quattro for over 5 years now, and it's been a wild ride. This car has become an extension of myself - I take it on road trips, commute in style, and even use it to haul gear for my outdoor hobbies. The V8 engine is a beast, providing more than enough power to merge onto highways or climb steep mountain roads with ease. And yet, despite its muscle, the 6-speed manual transmission makes it incredibly easy to drive around town - I've averaged over 25mpg on regular driving. I love how the Quattro system grips the road, making me feel like I'm glued to the asphalt even in the wettest of conditions. The interior is a luxurious oasis, with premium leather and aluminum trim that feels more at home in a Bentley than an Audi (in my opinion). Any issues? Well, there's been a few engine-related gremlins over the years, but nothing too serious. Overall, this car has been incredibly reliable for its age - it justifies all the hype surrounding the original "S" models from Audi. If you're in the market for a high-performance wagon, look no further than the S6 Avant Quattro - just be prepared for some added attention when driving by.
